Addiction Treatment for Your Spouse

Addiction Treatment for Your Spouse

It is so frustrating. How long can this person that you love and honor ignore the obvious signs of addictive behavior? You watch with sadness and lament, “this is not the person I fell in love with.”

In 12 Step Meetings we share the “Serenity Prayer” that offers the view that we cannot change another, but we can change ourselves. It takes courage to express your outrage in a manner that is nonjudgmental and yet assertive. This prayer also suggests that we gain personal comfort when we adopt the “wisdom” to accept the things we cannot change.

I am “blessed” with the experiential background to empathize with both the addict and the family member. Alanon saved my sanity and AA saved my life. Our Newport Recovery Team is required to attend one or both of these support groups.

Let us support your decision to seek support for yourself.  Contact Newport Recovery for no cost individual or family assessment and counseling session. Let us do for you what you cannot do for yourself.
